Solar Center Library

The Solar Center has grown a significant library of renewable energy and green building materials since 1981.

Formally the library materials were located in the NCSU Solar House, next to the McKimmon Center at Western Boulevard and Gorman Street in Raleigh, NC.  The NC Solar Center Reference Library had grown to a point where it needed a larger home and a dedicated staff of librarians to manage the collection materials.  In 2009, the North Carolina Solar Center donated this collection of materials collected for three decades to the NC State University Library enabling the NC State Solar Collections to far exceed any other University collection in the state.

You can visit the library electronically or in person at the newly construceted Hunt Library on Centennial Campus.

The library holdings consist of books, publications, papers, and fact sheets relating to Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation. For your convenience, the library can be searched by subject categories, titles, authors, or subject matter.
